Novelist Virginia Woolf wrote this famous line in her diary, finding that wandering aimlessly through the city was a tonic for her troubled mind. She explored this concept in her 1927 essay “Street Haunting”, explaining how stepping outside to observe the city lets a person shed their daily identity and “become a part of that vast army of anonymous trampers.” ⁠
Walking has always been my way of exploring new places, finding new paths in old haunts, and sorting out my thoughts while ambling through urban landscapes.

Plus benches; I’m obsessed with inscriptions on benches. I find them touching, sad, heartwarming, thoughtful and utterly beautiful.
So when I was asked to design a piece for a bench in Kings Cross by Love Camden I knew I wanted to delve in to these sides of me;
Inspiration through exploring and the art of resting on a city bench.

This quote perfectly sums me up;
A Londoner who is constantly inspired by the city.
A solo wander who explores through walking.
A person with a heavy heart who needs rest.
